This new project, City On Our Knees talks about bringing everyone together as one. DC Talk had limited success those first years, but in 1995, the trio decided to make a change from Hip Hop to more of a Rap style of music. The decision was a good one. Their album, Jesus Freak , sold over two million copies and became a double platinum record. The trio continued a relatively successful run until 2000 when they all agreed to start pursuing solo careers.
The release date for the complete album project, [i]City On Our Knees, is scheduled for February 2010. Currently, TobyMac is on a 20 city, coast to coast, November thru December tour. TheWinter Wonder Slam Tour features Toby Mac, Relient K, Stephanie Smith and B.Reith. There is a lot of excitement over this new song and album. City On Our Knees is at the top of the charts. 2010 is promises to be a good year for TobyMac.
TobyMac Biography
As a soloist, TobyMac has more of a Hip Hop, Urban style to his singing compared to the Christian Rock style DC Talk had in those last years. He went back to the original DC Talk style of the late 80's. It works for him. Right from the beginning of his solo career, his music gained attention.
The Slam was also used in [/i]advertisements for the television show Prison Break. Many of his songs inspire raw emotions. A number of TobyMac's songs have been used in movies, TV shows, advertisements and theme songs for major sports figures throughout the years. In 2009, after many years of being nominated for his passionate work, TobyMac was awarded a Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for his project Alive and Transported.

The world first met TobyMac back in 1987, when he was part of a Hip Hop Christian trio called DC Talk. That was a pivotal time in Christian Music history. TobyMac's real name is Kevin Michael "Toby" McKeehan. He's 45 years old and is a Grammy award winning artist, producer and songwriter. He is credited with being one of the first Christian Rap artist. Yet to many he's a just a guy who sings from the heart.
