The name Kardashian gained its first exposure in 1994 when their father, Robert Kardashian, famously became a defence lawyer for OJ Simpsons during his trial for the murder of his ex wife. But it’d be over 10 years until his children found their way into the limelight.

If you think it’ll stop at Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, then you’d be mistaken. Already it seems their half sisters are working on a media career thanks to the publicity of Keeping up with the Kardashians, while Kourtney’s new son is fast becoming a favourite paparazzi shot.
Her fortunes changed in 2007 when she was on the cover of Playboy and thanks to manager (and mother, Kris) the whole family became stars of their own reality TV show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. Enter the ‘real’ Kim and her dysfunctional family; head of the house and mother Kris, easy going step father Bruce, half sisters Kendall and Kylie, older sister Kourtney, younger sister Khloe and the only brother Rob.
It seems the magazines and celebrity based TV shows think very, otherwise they wouldn’t feel the need to print their every move. Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami had the highest rating for a premiere on E! in seven years; it’s hard to argue with the facts. And Keeping up with the Kardashians has increased its viewing figures over its 4 seasons.
However, these feats could be as a result of their exposure in the media and self promotion on almost every show on the E! network. As cynical as it may seem, they’ve still managed to get on every paparazzi website (X17online, TMZ, Hollywood TV) beside Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton etc. And this exposure just leads to those magazine and newspaper articles in the US and Europe.
