Monk, the USA TV Network detective comedy starring Tony Shaloub, is winding up at the end of its current season. The clever comedy about the obsessive – compulsive detective is currently in its eighth and last season. Tony Shaloub stars as Detective Adrian Monk. The cast of Monk also includes Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Gray - Stanford and Hector Elizondo. Recently Tony Shaloub answered interview questions in a conference call with writers and editors.
What has been your favorite episode and why?
Tony Shaloub: "No. Okay, yes. I'll give you some information. A wedding takes place on the show. A man and a woman become wed. That's about all I can tell you. "
Tony Shaloub: "I am very, very happy with how it (the series) has come out. In fact, the last not just the last two episodes, but the last five or six there are a lot of things revealed. I just think it is some of the strongest stuff we have done in all this time. So yes, the answer is I am very, very, very happy. It was incredibly satisfying for me and I know I am guessing that it will be for the viewers.
Tony Shaloub: "I think that down the road if you were to ask me this question, in a month or two, I would have to say the last. The finale is going to become my favorite because it has been such an enormous – as I said, it is a two part episode and it is a big, big story and so much is really up there. I think that is going to be a good one. "
What can you tell us about the upcoming series finale?
The murder of Monk's beloved wife Trudy has been a mystery that has been ongoing throughout the series. Tony Shaloub stated in an earlier interview that the long-time mystery will finally be solved as the series concludes, so all loose ends will be tied up.
"Tony Shaloub: "Well, I can't tell you much other than the writers have – they are going to solve the Trudy mystery and there. But I am really not a liberty to give away too much of that information. And after eight years on Monk, it has had a devastating effect on my memory new gucci sunglasses, so even if I wanted to, I probably couldn't tell you because I really do not remember how it goes. "
